L’ATTITUDE which stands for “Latino and Attitude” is a four-day conference in San Diego where the biggest Latinos in real estate, politics, entertainment and venture capital convene to celebrate and push the message that Latinos are the new mainstream economy. Latinx’s economic power is $2.8 Trillion, GDP report sites.
L’ATTITUDE released a Latino gross Domestic Product (GDP) report gathered by the Latino Donor Collaborative (LDC) and sponsored by Wells Fargo that showed eye-popping data. According to the report, last year U.S.-based Latinos pumped $2.8 Trillion dollars into the economy even during a pandemic this is up from last year’s report. The report also noted the Latino community was the hardest hit during the COVID-19 pandemic being the number one cause of death for the community compared to nationally being the third cause of death for the year. Despite those stats Latino’s resilience doubled-down with economic data showing GDP increased by 0.10 Trillion dollars from $2.7 in 2019 to $2.8 Trillion in 2020.

“With COVID the true Patriots that were on the frontline during the COVID period working [and] serving all of us in various sectors were the Latino cohort and they were horribly affected,” said L’ATTITUDE co-founder Sol Trujillo in a CNBC interview. “It’s a story of true Patriotism to help an economy like ours continue to grow,” said Trujillo.
The report also stated in 2022, if the U.S.-based Latinos GDP was a country it would be the fifth largest economy in the world surpassing France’s economy. This is big news because it means the Latino economic power is large and can create influence in corporate America and the political spectrum.
“We start demanding representation, equal pay and equal opportunities because if we don’t get it, because you know what we can do? As a community we can single-handedly make or break any industry or company that we choose,” said movie production CEO of Avenida Productions Nelson Grande on social media.
The report represents Latinos’ economic output impact in the U.S. which its data is hard to find because it is often overlooked or not researched and gathered because finding data costs money. Reports and studies are costly and demonstrates why it’s important that studies are done on the Latino community to show the value and worth in numerical value to major corporations and government agencies. Numbers are the easiest way to show facts to shift the conversation about the impact Latinos have on this country and our Latino narrative.
