Netflix has announced Tomorrow Was Beautiful (Mañana Fue Bonito), the first-ever Karol G documentary. Go behind-the-scenes with Karol G.
If you love Karol G and her songs, 2025 is your year! Netflix is officially releasing a Karol G documentary, and we’re already counting down the days.
Titled Tomorrow was Beautiful (Mañana Fue Bonito), the film will be an intimate look at the real Carolina Giraldo Navarro, better known as Karol G. According to Netflix, this will be a raw, behind-the-scenes glimpse of the Latina icon’s journey, her rise to fame filled with impossible dreams and unexpected turns in life.
On the morning of September 30th, the Latina singer posted a picture on her Instagram account with a piece of paper bordered with hearts and the Netflix logo on the bottom. In her handwriting, it said both in Spanish and English:
“Una historia de sueños que parecían imposibles y que se alimentaron de una fe inquebrantable. ¡Una lucha que lo desafió todo! Mi vida, mi trabajo, mi verdad y la conexión tan especial con ustedes… Mi sueño hecho realidad”.
“A story born from dreams that seemed impossible, fueled by unwavering faith. A relentless journey that defied all odds. My life, my work, my truth and the powerful connection I share with you all. My dream came true.”
The documentary is the result of a collaboration between Interscope Records, a U.S. record label based in Santa Monica, This Machine, and none other than Bichota Films, Karol G’s own production company and the first documentary! The film will be directed and produced by Cristina Constantini, famous for her previous documentary on Walter Mercado, so we know our Latina idol is in good hands.
Before she was rocking stadiums and making history on the Billboard charts, Karol G was just a girl from Medellín with a dream and a lot of courage. Born in 1991, she knew she wanted to be a singer from an early age and didn’t waste time making it happen.
Her big break finally happened in 2017, when her collaboration with Bad Bunny “Ahora Me Llama” put her on the map with 1062 M visits. After that, it was hit after hit:
Netflix is keeping its cards close to its chest, so there isn’t much information on what the documentary will be about. As far as we know, Tomorrow was Beautiful will explore more than just the concerts and international fame, but also parts of Karol G’s private life, her struggles as a young artist, how she had to hustle as a Latina in the music world, and the core moments that made her into the Latina icon she is today.
With that said, one thing we can expect is some unreleased footage of her journey from Colombia’s jewel Medellín, along with photos or even interviews from people who knew her back then.
With 1.3 million (and growing) likes and 24,000 + comments, news has traveled fast, and Karol G’s documentary is the talk of the town. Since the announcement, all her fandom waits in anticipation, eager to learn more about the superstar’s life.
But when will the Karol G documentary be released? May 8, 2025. Mark your calendars!
Karol G isn’t just topping charts, she’s redefining Latin music and inspiring a whole generation. Karol G’s journey is about so much more than chart-topping hits and sold-out stadiums, it’s a reflection of the dreams, struggles, and victories shared by so many Latinas around the world.
At BoldLatina, we believe in amplifying stories that showcase authenticity, perseverance, and powerful self-belief and Karol’s story embodies all of that. From her early days in Medellín to global superstardom, she has broken barriers in an industry that often sidelines women, especially Latinas.
Her success reminds us that visibility matters.
